When did you start Keystone? What were you doing beforehand?
I joined Keystone in July 2023 after working at Avatar Brokers for four years. I have worked with Neil and Jon before in 2016 while at ProRisk. My previous role at Avatar as an Account Manager dealt with renewal and new business for clients within the life science and research and development product line. I placed Clinical Trials, D&O, Management Liability, Corporate Travel, and Marine Transit insurances for those clients.
What is your role at Keystone and what does a typical day look like for you?
I am an Underwriter at Keystone assisting with scheme business and learning who the brokers are in each state. Every day is varied with a combination of policy renewals and endorsements to manage, and a flurry of urgent business that needs reviewing. I have much to learn about the systems and products, but I am enjoying the challenge.
What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most?
I enjoy coming into the office and being with the team. It is a busy office and only having recently moved location, there is much focus on making the environment just right which is great to be part of.
What makes Keystone special in comparison to other places you’ve worked?
Each day, time is taken to eat lunch together, discuss upcoming renewals and current claims, and debrief with the team on conferences and client meetings. It is good to be part of a team where everyone has an opportunity to know what is going on with potential new business and current schemes.
What is your proudest moment at Keystone?
Running solo on the Underwriter system and fully binding my first policy. It has been satisfying having colleagues confirm the work I had undertaken was all correct, and feeling a sense of accomplishment that I contributed a small part to the team.
I am looking forward to achieving more milestone moments with Keystone.
If you could meet anyone in the world dead or alive who would it be and why?
Princess Diana, as I would love to know what it was like to be part of the royal family, and to be in her presence as she is a beautiful soul.
If you were stuck on an island what three things would you bring?
Matches, a fishing net, and music.
