KeyNotes – Quarter 4 2025
January 19, 2026In this edition: Marathons, Milestones and More!
This quarter has been one of connection, celebration and impact across the Keystone team. A marathon in Canberra to an expo in Toowoomba has strengthened relationships and made memories along the way. Our culture of collaboration and camaraderie continues to shine through whether hosting Drag Bingo or smashing trivia over pizza. There has been plenty to be proud of and even more to look forward to. As always, thank you for being part of the Keystone journey!
Keystone Underwriters at the Council of Queensland Insurance Brokers Inc (CQIB) Pop-Up Expos
Michelle and Jess attended the CQIB Pop-Up Expos in Toowoomba and on the Sunshine Coast in Caloundra. Keystone was proud to be a Sponsor of both events. These were great opportunities for CQIB members and business partners to display their capabilities together in regional locations. This fosters connections and has been a great way to share industry knowledge.

Charlotte (Underwriter) and Emma (Claims Handler) Visit Brisbane
Emma and Charlotte travelled to Brisbane where they had a fantastic time connecting with the Brisbane Keystone team and soaking up the city’s vibrant rhythm with energising morning runs prior to meetings. The trip provided a valuable opportunity to catch up with key supporters, and to gain fresh insights from brokers regarding Queensland-specific claims challenges. These conversations are instrumental in helping us tailor our approach and better support those we insure in the region.
Keystone Anniversary – Georgia (Underwriting Assistant)
Georgia celebrated her second year at Keystone while away on holidays in Vietnam (lucky!) at the beginning of April. This marks another year of successful contribution to the Keystone Team. Congratulations Georgia!
Newcastle Underwriting Agencies Council (UAC) Expo
Lily (Administration Assistant) and Kaleb (Underwriter) attended the UAC Newcastle Exchange where they had the opportunity to meet and connect with brokers and others in the industry. The event was a great platform to exchange ideas, gain insight into current market dynamics, and explore new opportunities. It also gave us a chance to reaffirm our focus on building strong relationships and provide meaningful support to our broker partners. We are grateful for the warm welcome from the Newcastle broking community and look forward to continuing the conversations started on the day.

Canberra Marathon
Keystone is very proud of team members Chloe (Claims Manager), Emma (Claims Handler) and Charlotte (Underwriter) who successfully participated in the Canberra Marathon Festival. Their efforts were a demonstration of commitment and camaraderie involving early morning training runs to crossing the finish line side by side. Well done to three amazing women!
Young Insurance Professionals (YIPS) Drag Bingo Night
Keystone was honoured to support the YIPS annual Drag Queen Bingo hosted by the incredible BeBe Gunn! This was a fun night with many prizes won, lots of laughs, and a great opportunity for our Queensland underwriting team to connect with emerging professionals.

Underwriting Agencies Council (UAC) Melbourne Expo
Our team had the privilege of attending the UAC Melbourne expo, where we connected with brokers and industry professionals from across the sector. The event was a fantastic opportunity to gain fresh insights into emerging market trends and challenges facing the industry. It also allowed us to showcase how we are adapting our offerings to better support brokers and their clients in an evolving landscape. Strengthening existing relationships and building new ones was a key highlight of the day. We appreciated the opportunity to engage with brokers face-to-face to reinforce our commitment to collaboration, responsiveness, and delivering exceptional service. We left feeling energised, informed, and excited about the opportunities ahead.
We Welcome Niranjala Benedict
We are delighted to welcome Niranjala Benedict to Keystone. She joined our in-house claims team in May as Senior Claims Handler. Niranjala has worked in various sectors throughout her career, from WorkCover and TAC related claims, to financial lines. She loves Pilates, yoga and meditation, as well as sipping tea while people watching! We are grateful for her wealth of experience and love the positive attitude she brings to the team. Welcome Niranjala!
Keystone Celebrates International Burger Day!
The team enthusiastically participated in a delicious lunch to celebrate International Burger Day at the end of May. It featured 20 mouthwatering burgers from a local favourite and was the perfect excuse to pause, connect, and enjoy some quality time (and food!) together. Safe to say, no burger was left behind! The lunch was a hit and a fun reminder that great food and the good company we have at Keystone go hand in hand.

Remote Work, Real Results
Niranjala has begun working remotely from Europe for a few months, with Athens as her first base, bringing a fresh perspective (and some sunny views!) to her daily work. Meanwhile, Ben (Underwriter) recently spent a week dialling in from Singapore, staying closely connected with the team and brokers across time zones. It is a great reminder of how flexible work arrangements can support both productivity and global collaboration. Their ability to be engaged and deliver quality outcomes from any part of the globe highlights the strength of our team’s adaptability and commitment.
Charlotte Donates Bone Marrow
We are incredibly proud to share that our very own Charlotte has selflessly donated her bone marrow, offering a teenager a second chance at life. This extraordinary act of generosity was made possible through Stem Cell Donors Australia, an organisation that connects patients in urgent need of stem cell and bone marrow transplants with healthy, unrelated donors willing to give hope. Very ill children who are battling serious blood cancers and other disorders rely on matches from complete strangers, people like Charlotte, whose decision to step forward can truly change, or even save, a life. Her courage and compassion are an inspiration to us all.
Bring your Dog to Work Day!
Bridget’s dog, King, was a very special visitor to Keystone’s Melbourne office to celebrate Bring Your Dog to Work Day. He is a very big dog, but has a calm nature and charming presence which won over the office, bringing smiles, tail wags, and a noticeable boost to team morale. The day was a fun reminder of the positive impact pets can have in the workplace, and we thoroughly enjoyed having King as an honorary team member. See a couple of office regulars below –

Keystone Visits Shag’s Vibrant World at Lush Life Exhibition
Charlotte, Jon, and Felicity recently attended the opening of ‘Lush Life: Recent and Rare Prints by Shag’, at Outré Gallery in Fitzroy, Melbourne. This exhibition showcases Josh Agle’s (aka Shag’s) vibrant and retro-inspired works. The event featured a curated selection from his archive, including rare editions such as the Pulp Fiction inspired ‘Mia and Vincent’. A highlight of the evening was meeting Shag himself and gaining insight into the stories behind his iconic pieces.

End of Financial Year
The Keystone team celebrated the end of the financial year with a 30 June evening of pizza, laughs, and friendly competition. The office was buzzing as teams went head-to-head in a series of trivia quizzes. It was a great way to unwind after a particularly busy day and reflect on a year of hard work and achievements. Celebrations like these remind us of the importance of connection and team spirit at Keystone.
It has been a time of continued momentum across the Keystone team as we wrap up a successful quarter. The past few months have showcased the energy and dedication that drive our culture, from interstate travel and industry events to personal milestones and team-wide initiatives. Our people have stepped up, reached out, and made an impact, through sharing knowledge, building broker relationships, and even running marathons. There has also been plenty of fun along the way. We are proud to share these moments with you as a reflection of the people and values that make Keystone thrive.
